krazzy 6!

This post is long overdue..
Dedicated to my crazy gal gang..
Have picked up some stuff from the testimonials I wrote u guys on orkut..
This is just my way of saying that I miss u guys.. and life has not been the same without y’all around..

ARVA

Aru, the big bum! Oh ya, that’s her favourite word. 50% of her vocab consists of the word BUM! Something like this, “you bum! Where were u bum? I was waiting bum.. for u.. bum!” lol…
she’s like this huge mass of energy (and no, when I say huge mass, I don’t mean fat! :P)
forever super excited, animated, almost hyperactive creature.. i like that about her..
kapasi days.. when we had lectures at 7am.. she was like my cup of coffee.. lol..
oh ya, and she bakes the most amazzzin cakes! I think they’re even tastier coz of all the love u put into it! (I think im gonna cry!) and no fido, MY bday cake was better than yours! :P
and I don’t know, if she knows this.. but she’s a shopaholic.. cannot stop shopping!
oh and the sleepover at her place was crazy fun … not for her I guess.. coz she slept! Imagine. The host slept!!! While, the rest of us partied! Lol…
Aru, I miss you, bum! I think il just drop by to Bahrain next summer... we can go shopping!

BETSY

Betsy or bed sheet (as pinu's uncle once called her) is a really quiet n shy gal.... comes across as an introvert at first but opens up when u get to know her n then she'll no longer be quiet.... heck, the talking doesn't end then.. lol..
A great cook.. she's a source of inspiration to people like me who can jus bout manage to boil water.... lol
an avid reader.... a passion I share with her....
a very good listener... always there to help whenever needed...
oh, and I cannot forget the sleepover we had at her place.. Crazy stuff.. Had a photo session right outside a morgue in the middle of the night!!!
Betsy, two words of advice I’d like to give you... BE POSITIVE... lol.. If u know what i mean..
I miss you. :(
I’m pretty sure that you must be quite fed up of kerela by now (if I know you well :P)
come back soon
love ya!

FARIDA

Farida or fido (as I named her coz all she drinks is 7up).
A huge muvi buff. She’s seen em all. Im sure she watches bhojpuri movies also (secretly!). lol. Her knowledge of muvi’s is awesome. Ask her which muvi a particular song is from n she’ll answer in a jiffy. Wish she’d put so much effort in studying eco. She’d have made us proud then! lol
A big foodie. Loves to eat. Oh! And she loves cheese. Cheese dosa, cheese pav bhaji. I should try feeding her onions with cheese. Wonder if she’ll eat it, coz she hates onions.
Her vocab consists of ridiculous yet real funny phrases picked rite outta hindi soaps. Eg: “aisa aisa” which she utters most of the time while simultaneously making some equally lame hand gestures.
A very cool person. I can pull her legs all day n she wont lose her temper.
And as for you fido, just wanted to tell u that all the times we’ve spent together wouldn’t have been the same without you. You’re the “FUN” in our group.
Come back to Mumbai! There’s JET here too. And I bet the ground staff guys here are cuter than those fellows there in Kuwait! And dint you say movie tickets are really expensive there… I cant imagine you not going to the movies!!! You’ll go mad there…
I miss you! :(

PEENAZ

Pinu! Pinzi! One of my very good friends. First n foremost she should have been named PEE-"he he he"-NAZ coz she laughs a lot. Seriously… You crack a joke, she laughs... you tell her a really sad n depressing story, she still laughs... you know, once she actually fell down n guess what, she got up n laughed! But I really love that quality of hers, always cheerful, brightens your mood! But she can be a cry baby sometimes! Like when she's in a bad mood (which is quite rare). She's kinda moody! she's got a really good choice when it comes to buying things, so all u people who wanna go shoppin, take her along!
another thing about her is that she's like one of those models, carol gracias types, seriously, she walks like a model, talks like a model n behaves like one too…
All in all a very good friend n a very loving person! thanks for being there for me sweetie….
especially now.. since ur the only one here in Mumbai with me.. you sort of make up for their absence.. love you!

INSIYA

Insi. The nerd of the group. She’s like this brain. It’s a good thing we had her as a friend during college coz we’d get all the notes.. Not just her’s but hers+other nerds+seniors+other colleges+atleast 10 coaching classes+atleast 20 tution teachers!!! She had them all! She probably knew what was taught across the whole city on a particular day.
so u can clearly see, how she was missing out on important fun time.. so the rest of us came to her rescue.. and one night.. at arva’s place…. ….. …. (oh, I just realised im not allowed to put that up here! :P)
she’s like the mumma of the group.. caring, loving, gentle..
i miss you insi… I know you stay at bhiwandi, but that’s almost like another country!!!

WHY ARE NONE OF YOU GUYS IN TOWN!
There are so many memories… so many things I don’t wana forget..
matheran (the crazy horse jump!), 210, gelato’s, kapasi, toilets and toilets pvt limited,… lol..
help me keep those alive
cant wait to meet y’all soon…
Love y’all my bitches! :P

Disturb Us, Lord...

(A poem i came across.. truly touching...)

Disturb us Lord, When
We are too well pleased with ourselves
When our dreams have come true
Because we dream too little,
When we arrived safely
Because we sailed too close to the shore

Disturb us Lord, When
With the abundance of things we possess
We have lost our thirst
For the abundance of life;
We have ceased to dream of eternity.
And in our effort to build a new earth,
We have allowed our vision
Of the new heaven to dim.

Disturb us Lord, to dare more boldly,
To venture on wider seas
Where storms will show your master;
Where losing sight of land,
We shall find stars.

We ask you to push back
The horizons of our hopes,
And to push in the future
In strength, courage, hope and love.

Frustrations!

Getting back to blogging after a long time. Well, there’s tons of stuff I can write about, but it’s all un-publishable stuff. You see, writing is the only way I know to get rid of my frustrations.
That is because, I can’t yell at people. I can’t tell them just what I think of them. Believe me, I’ve tried. Only to end up looking like a fool, with tears in my eyes, and a croaky voice. Unable to express myself, afraid to hurt, willing to avoid the awkwardness that usually follows… Phew, just can’t do it!!!
But, I’m beginning to wonder. Do people around me notice this? Do they see this as a sign of my weakness? Do they wait for the right moment to attack? Or do they just do it to entertain themselves? To see if I’ll crack? To see if I’ll lose control? Just to test my patience!
And what do I do once I’m hurt? It’s so damn hard acting like nothings happened. To continue pretending that nothings wrong. To look the same people in the face and convince myself that maybe I am doing the right thing, when I know deep down that it just can’t be…
Maybe I should just let go of myself once in a way. Just yell my lungs out!! Without giving a hoot about the tears and stuff! Just to let them know, that I do have feelings. I cannot be trampled upon. And I don’t deserve to be treated this way!
So this is me… taking a vow… That the next time anyone messes with me, they’re gonna get to see a side of me they haven’t seen before…
And anyone here got a problem with that?
Then go suck an egg!!!
:P

Rain

Its June now..
The summer nears its end..
After a long, gruesome summer, the mere sight of clouds stretched across the sky brings respite…
My heart leaps with joy,
for the clouds bring with them plenty of promises…

Promises...

of the sweet smell of mud,
of growing grass and blooming buds,
of flashes of lightning that light up my room,
of lazy cloudy afternoons,
of the pitter-patter of the rain on the rooftops,
of shut windows glistening with raindrops,
of long walks along the beach,
of blowing winds and swaying trees,
of cuddling beneath an umbrella, a special loved one
of children playing, splashing around and having fun,
of paper boats floating in muddy puddles,
of the roars of thunder that make me tremble,
of cool cozy lonely nights,
of longings to hold a loved one tight,
of raincoats and gum boots,
of snails and rainbows and earthworms too..

so, let me close my eyes and cherish it all...
Me, my love and the rainfall..

Have a happy monsoon everyone!

Crazy Lil Thing Called ....

Hey there sweetie..!!!

Its been about 10 minutes since I hung up after talking to you.. and guess what… I miss you already. Crazy isn’t it?
Well I was never good at expressing emotions, so I figured I’ll just write about them… and noo you are never gonna get to read this… atleast not till im prepared…
There’s a lot I need to talk to you about… a lot I need to say…
Sometimes I wonder… when will I ever be able to tell you, exactly how I feel about you… without getting my throat all caught up, without having tears threatening to flow, without making a fool of myself… I wonder…
Every moment I spend with you is precious. You have no idea how I long to catch a glimpse of you, or just to hear your voice, spend time with you… and to create memories that’ll last forever…
I love the way you laugh (at your own sad jokes..,!!!) The way you look at me, the way you irritate me, the way you get all cranky and grumpy sometimes, the way you whisper sweet nothings in my ear when no one’s watching… more importantly, the way you love me.. THAT I love the most…
Every time we plan to meet, I can hardly wait! You make me feel like a small child, longing for the summer. The anticipation starts building, time goes by so slowly.. until I finally see you. And then my face breaks into a smile… like always. You look at me.. And your eyes say it all… and I feel like iv never been away..
Well, all Im saying here is that we’ve got something really special going on here.. I hope you realise that.. Lets not let anything ruin that… because nothing else is worth it…
You are, without doubt, the most beautiful thing in my life right now…
And I thank you for that
Love you
Always..

P.S: hope that felt ‘nice’… lol…

Hmmm......for all of you who dont know, this little "ANGEL" here is SANDRA (from Bandra who is sweet and naughty.....of course she has to be naughty) She is an ANGEL bcoz she gives more than what she takes. (don't break your heads about the "give and take" part.... u'll cum to kno wen u start hanging out wit her)
Well to begin with I used to see her since the 5th standard, but did'nt speak much (coz I was a weird guy who hated talking to girls.) but ever since i started talking to her, I liked it (and wanted more of it) and now that we are constantly chat and hangout often, we have managed to change each other. (i.e. I spoilt her & she improved me)
Apart from all this she is an amazing teacher, a big Sean Kingston, Brad Pitt and John Abraham fan (sorry for spoiling those John Abraham posters), loves to eat kulfi (be it rain, sleep or snow), Loves animals (like me) especially cats and boy!!! she surely flips over flowers and she also loves doing all the girly stuff which would include dancing (i.e. jiving)
But the most amazing fact about her is.... she has these really beautiful eyes and that sweet girly smile and........heck I can't think of n e thing more(coz i look better....just kidding) but yeah..... she has a very caring nature, (so much so that even if you're on the list of annoying people, she'd want to know how u doing??) she is very understanding & kept me going wen I thought of giving up....(on many things)
Well all I'd like to say is (its an SMS u sent me, but it suits u better.) "the world gives me a million reasons to hate it, but then I think of you and tell myself how can i hate this world.... wen u make it seem like paradise." Thanx for playing a major part in my world....... and I hope u continue to be a part of it. Bye. Tc.

Ozzie Fernandes

She has a very cute smile and also feels that my smile is better than her's.........lol, Honestly speaking a sweet friend who always be there. Words not enough to describe so I'll end it here. Pls give me a chocolate now cause i've writen all goody things about u. Cheers!!!!!!

The year that went by...

Its almost mid April now. The year went by so fast. (The academic year...) Almost like in the blink of the eye. I still remember my first day of college. So many expectations, so many apprehensions. It was for the first time that I was going to a place where I knew no one. NOT A SINGLE PERSON..!!! The thought frightened me, but the ambitious girl inside me took over and I set foot in XIMR on the 27th of July 2009. The first day actually turned out to be fun. Made some new friends. Everyone seemed so friendly. Dint feel like it was any different from a regular college. Definitely dint feel like a management college. I remember going home thinking, ‘its gonna be a fun ride..!’
Well, I don’t know how much of fun it actually turned out to be. But it was one helluva ride. Today, as I look back and think of what I was, as a person, a year ago, I see a complete stranger. A naïve, eager to please, happy-go-lucky sort of girl who thought the world was a great place and every human being was a gem. I rarely ever got angry and had never snapped at anyone my entire life. But a year at XIMR changed me completely. Sometimes, I fail to recognise the person I’ve become.. Short tempered, competitive, judgmental. I’m not saying that I’ve changed for the worse. Of course, I do admit that being judgmental and short tempered is completely unacceptable. But I think I’ve learnt a lot about people… different kinds of people and how to deal with them. Trust me, spending 12 hours a day, 6 days a week, with the same people is not easy. Sometimes, you just want to yell at them and tell them to get out of your face..!!! There’s so much rivalry, competition, fighting, backstabbing and bitching that it would make hell seem like a better place. But I can proudly say that there is one thing I still have from my old self… and that is.. my conscience. Its there... completely alive and kicking..!! Gets me every time.. That little voice, that can get so annoying at times that it wont let you sleep. Yes, the same fella, its there.. And I’m happy to say it hasn’t died.
I know my words may give you the impression that I detest being a part of that place. But that is absolutely not the case. In fact, it’s completely the opposite. I have made some good friends there and I also look forward to spending the next year with them. I’ve had some of the craziest times and I wouldn’t trade those for anything in the world. And that’s what gets me going. I don’t know how I survived this year, but its just the thought of all of us being in it together, that’ll help me get through the next. Atleast I hope so. Until then I shall try to put into practise the mantra that my aunt gave me … “SEE GOD IN EVERYONE..”

The Sorrow Of My Soul

Something I wrote last lent...

Woke up at the break of dawn to the sweet chirping of birds,
opened up my dusty bible, thought id read a verse.
Jesus said to his friend Peter, "your going to deny me,
not once, not twice, but thrice you'll say that you don't recognize me.

I closed my eyes, knelt, and prayed to the almighty.
"how on earth could your dearest friend Peter deny thee?
I'll never ever deny thee O lord, NEVER, not even once,
and this I'll prove to you O lord, if you give me a chance."

Went about my chores that day, those precious words forgotten.
glanced through my window and saw that a little puppy was being beaten.
the kids stoning the puppy were all smiles while the puppy wailed in pain,
something told me that i should stop them, but instead I let them enjoy their game.

Took a train to work that day after buying a 'Bisleri'.
"Oh these dreadful summers" I grumbled, and took a sip or three.
just then, came to me, a little urchin girl of about the age three,
she fought to get my attention by tugging at my sleeve.

Staring at me with those wide eyes, that little girl said to me,
"I'm really really thirsty ma'am, would you care to share that water with me?"
I glared at her with contempt and disgust and muttered a curse.
shooed her away from me and hid the bottle underneath my purse.

As I walked down the road again, I came across a blind man,
waiting to cross the street, waiting for a helping hand.
I rushed past him, thinking to myself
"I'm running quite late, he'll surely find someone else"

It was then that it struck me, like a bolt of lightening,
I fell down on my knees, overcome by shame, my body trembling.
tears were flowing down my face, but it dint ease the pain,
the realization dawned on me and it filled me with shame.

T'was on that day that my precious Lord had come to me,
not once, not twice, but thrice, in ways i hadn't perceived.
but, it was me, a blind fool, who couldn't see,
the Lord almighty who was present in all of these.
